Mark Cheirrett founded Eco Chemical in 1991 in Seattle, Washington. Mark has spent over 40 years working in the water chemical industry and was inspired to create Eco Chemical after working with toxic chemicals for many years and experiencing their negative health effects first-hand. Eco Chemical brought to market one of the first water-based polyurethane coatings and developed waterborne paints and stains for the industrial market.

Today, our employees come from a variety of professional backgrounds that contribute to and strengthen the company, including traditional artists, sculptors, farmers, ranchers, chemists, engineers, and marketing professionals. Mark Cheirrett, the President and CEO, shares ownership and strategic guidance for the company with his wife, Peg.

About Our Products
Dependability, opportunity, and innovation – made to order.

Eco Chemical got its start as a wood stain supplier for pressure treated wood manufacturers. We developed the first waterborne wood stain for the industry that was compatible with common treatment chemistries and could stand up to harsh manufacturing conditions while delivering a durable and attractive finish. Today, Eco Chemical remains the leading supplier of water-based wood stains and other coatings products to the pressure treating industry and other wood products manufacturing firms in western North America.

More recently, Eco Chemical had the opportunity to collaborate with the Seattle Seahawks and develop a removable marking paint for synthetic turf fields. The performance requirements for this product represented a mass of contradictions: be affordable, go on easy, look great, hold up to weather as well as play wear, and be easily removed without requiring harsh chemicals or causing excessive turf wear. The result was TempLine™ – the first complete system of waterborne field paint products, removers, and equipment. The TempLine system has since grown to become a leading field turf-marking solution for professional and college sports facilities as well as parks & recreation departments across North America.
